If yes is it fixed or variable and if fixed how >does one set it to 9600 baud? If no what is the fixed baud rate? One does not set its baud rate. It is a level converter. Level converters do not have baud rates. You set the radio(s) to 9600 and that is all. >I don't have a manual for the unit and wish to communicate with >an R7000 set to 9600 baud. Thanks in advance for any help. Just set the radio up, and plug the level converter (CT17) between the rig and the computer. Should work fine. -- --------------------------------------------------------------- Daniel Senie Internet: dts@world.std.com Daniel Senie Consulting n1jeb@world.std.com 508-365-5352 Compuserve: 74176,1347 ------------------------------ Date: 9 Nov 1993 13:29:26 GMT From: noc.near.net!ctron-news.ctron.com!ctron.com!geremia@uunet.uu.net Subject: RTTY,AMTOR,SITOR,PACTOR,CW,WEFAX etc Demodulator To: ham-equip@ucsd.edu Hello Again, It was mentioned that I probably would need a good receiver also. I currently have a Radio Shack Dx400.. It does have a wide/narrow filter and sideband. Someone mentioned to me that I might want to look for an old Drake R-4...... If anyone has one (CHEAP), please let me know... Also, any other input on the demodulator would be great.... Thanks.... Peter Geremia ps.. Has anyone ever used the MFJ 1278 TNC? If so please let me know how it works for you..... thanks ------------------------------ Date: 8 Nov 1993 21:57:50 GMT From: noc.near.net!ctron-news.ctron.com!ctron.com!geremia@uunet.uu.net Subject: RTTY,AMTOR,SITOR,PACTOR,CW,WEFAX etc Demodulator To: ham-equip@ucsd.edu Hello All, I am interested in purchasing a demodulator for rtty, amtor, sitor, pactor,cw wefax, sstv, etc... I dont know if the Kantronics Kam does all that I want. I have not heard of any other companies which make good units. Could someone please tell me what is available out there and the approx price range. If anyone has one that wants to sell, please let me know. My major concern is to get a unit that works GOOD. I had a MJF unit that was horrible... I then purchased the Kantronics UTU. It was ok, but now is very out of date. Any Help would be appreciated..... Thanks .... You should be able to find them in the "list of advertisers" in the rear of most of the ham mags. --Leigh/KM6JE. ------------------------------ End of Ham-Equip Digest V93 #99 ****************************** ******************************
